Re: Jezza's 1600
I know Ernie Hastie built the engine & I believe Ivan Murphy had it in the late 90's. If you have a chat to Ernie at the first auto-x he will probably be able to fill you in on most of the long history of your car. Good luck & see you on the 17th.

Re: Jezza's 1600
Yes I can see where it was light blue at some stage . Old Datsuns just keep going . Can anyone tell me how to find out what year it was manufactured in . I have looked at all the numbers I can find but a date is not very obvious . Maybe the number on the fire wall P510**** means somthing . I will be there on the 17 th . Ment to be working but have taken the day off .
Cheers Jezza

Re: Jezza's 1600
The P510**** is the model / chassis no. Ernie is the man. He told me what year mine was just by looking at it.

Re: Jezza's 1600
I am quite sure that it is a early model. you can tell by the dash, grill, and the direction that the wipers work. If it has a long rectangular speedo in it that means that it was manufactured in either 1968 or 1969. I have had a little bit to the with that car throughout the years so if you have any questions send a PM

Re: Jezza's 1600
The wipers go in the same direction, so it is the newer model, mine go in opposite directions & is the early model

Re: Jezza's 1600
We only had the 1600 for a season. It did win the SWTCC vs LCC Autocross Challenge at Rally Australia 2003! Nice to see the old girl looking so good.
