datto tune!!!

Post by gmcintyre87 on Mon Jun 22, 2009 9:12 pm

So decided to play with the datto tonight, so first things first i got it warmed up and it had this problem of not reving smooth, so i thought i would check the timing. so ive gone to disconnect the vacume advance of the dizzy, and as ive pulled it the hoe dizzy has twisted, the bolt was finger tight....... so that woudl make sense why it wont bloody rev.... So after finally finding where it would rev mint, i locked ti down and thought i would have a play with the carbys. So i know next to nothing abotu carbs, cause pretty much only played with efi. So i knw the basic air fuel mixture on most carbys is all the way in the 2.5 turns out. So i did this to both and started it, and it reved crisp as anything. So i just need to find out where the timign shoudl be then advance it a wee bit and just have a little bit more of a fiddle with the carbs and a road test... so im pretty happy with that, considering i no nothing about carbs, especially su's.

I also heard that replacing the dampening oil with autotrans fluid, make sit more responsive, so im considerign this. has anyone heard any thing about this beforee?
