1985 Nissan Bluebird TRX

Post by ultim8m on Tue Apr 07, 2009 10:50 am

Hey, Just signed up here

hoping to head down for the khanacross on the 19th
I've done a motorkhana before in a auto toyota supra and a couple of superkhanas in a mazda 121
basically the supra was useless for track being auto and weighing 1700kg, so i got bored sold it and bought a project

this will be my first time racing on dirt so should be interesting but really looking forward to it

this is how the car looked when i bought it
dodgy camera phone spec pics

1985 Nissan Bluebird TRX
basically its a CA20 completely stock 5 speed manual
cost me a whole $650 only had one owner runs perfect even still got the original spare keys never been used with plastic covers Razz

So far what ive done to it is stripped out the rear half of the interior, done the dual swaybar mod, installed a couple of fire extinguishers, aftermarket steering wheel, new plugs and leads and hit it with some paint

plan is to upgrade the suspension with s13 coilovers, hubs and brakes, front strutbrace and upgrade the front swaybar, i still need to remove the sound deadening from rear of the interior as well, will eventually fit a half cage too. Once the suspension and brakes are done it will also be getting a ca18det

I also need to add another return spring to the throttle is that just a matter of drillig a couple of holes next to the existing spring? and adding another?

this is how it looks now, havent got any pics of the interior at the moment will upload some when i get home tonight
I painted the bottom half while very drunk Razz and painted the rims lol

Still somewat bunky Razz but looks better than when i got it lol

Good to see another, almost Datsun coming along!! Cool I think the CA20 is fuel injected & controlled by a computer, If thats the case you don't need double return springs. They are only required on carbies. Hope that helps.

if you wana run some decent rally tyres, i can organise a set of 15"s for cheap. road tyres will be fun, but not fast, way to much understeer followed by plenty of over steer and a stupid amount of wheel spin..

Man, I'll be camping at the track Saturday night, Free, toilet & shower, drink as much as you like & don't have to drive anywhere. I have some 15's on 180SX rims if you want to try them. I am in Falcoon, on your way down. I can leave them out back & PM you my address if you want. At least you will find out the difference before you fork out coin. Let me know.
